    The one for the temp sender appears to be in the same place as yours, on the circulating water pump.

    I disconnected the wire, then shorted it to ground, no change in the gauge, still pegged. When I removed the gauge it was still pegged. When I shake the gauge the needle will move between 160 and 230.

        I think you're right Daniel.

        I did ohm from the sending unit to the gauge block and got continuity there so that confirmed that the sending unit on the circulation pump is the one for the gauge.

        I ohmed across the sending unit too and got 67 ohms. Also with the wire disconnected at both ends I ohmed from the wire to ground and it is not shorted.

        The boat has digital gauges for the speedo and the tach so I'm just going to replace all of them.

          For the record, I replaced the gauge and it resolved the problem.
