    Possible Fuel Leak

So I was out on the lake today and took a wake off a boat wrong. I hit it like a Mack Truck I hit it so hard the radio flew out, broke the windshield. I limped it back to my cove and we went swimming and I started to smell fuel. I opened the engine hatch and there was a strong fuel smell. I drove the boat home and when it was running I didn't smell raw fuel in the engine bay, but when I got home and opened the engine hatch the fuel smell was back. I wouldn't think the hit off the wake would have created the fuel leak but I have no idea. Anyone have any ideas about this I would appreciate it. Thank you for your help and time.

DO NOT start the boat until you find out why you have a fuel smell.

Gasoline vapors can explode if the mixture is right. How do you thing your engine get all its power?

You must have the entire fuel system checked by someone qualified to do that. you really do not want your boat to explode, and possibly burn, with you and your passengers out in the middle of a body of water.

You hit something. That makes this an insurance claim. Go get it checked and fixed by a pro for the cost of your deductible.
