Acme #1234 prop - will this fit my 95 super sport?

Just curious if anyone is running this prop on a 95 or similar Super Sport (Wake_fun?)... Its a little larger diameter than the #644 (13.25 x 16) at #1234 (14.5 x 14.25).. just wondering if it would fit? the current stock 3 blade seems really close to the gel coat, plus I added the gel coat stainless guard with adds about 1/8"... I just dont want it too close to that guard?

I have 2 x 750's in rear and 1 x 580 center locker and it WILL NOT plane out with stock prop...!!?? too much weight? It would plane out with 750's about half full and 580 full... but wow, slow to get up.

Thanks for the input (in advance). TC

i am running the 1234 on my 96 SS and it works like a charm with bags with that weight and 8 people it will plane out, i think there is about an inch gap too so no get coat burn, you will love it.

Wow, thats sounds great.. I thought there was something wrong with my motor or something.. I had the bags full and 4 people in boat and it would not get out of its own way!.. I thought I bought too much ballast! it was disappointing! Thanks, I will have to look into this prop now.. so I can use my ballast! Any problem with trailer/Bunk Support clearance?

Any big different on top end for you? Not that I really need top end... I prefer to get the benefits for boarding/surfing.. I am never really going all out anyway..

I use the 644 and it works perfect for me. I can get people up instantly and get on plane. What's the top speed on that 1234?

i am not totally sure what the top speed is maybe 33-35? i went with acme' s reccomendation since i plan on adding more weight to surf since it is usually 3 of us and i want to have good surf wake, as far as trailer clearance it clears fine with the prop guard. without full ballast when i hammer it throw people back hard!! this prop digs!

Great. I'm not sure what the pitch of the stock 3 blade is. I think it's 18. But the 644 is 16 I think and the 1234 is 14.25 I believe. Which should increase rpm, decrease top end or both. All I know is I need something to get up on plane or I've wasted money on serious ballast. Currently my 3 blade hits 40 (if my speedo is calibrated correctly). I don't need to go 40.

I am running a 1272 on mine which is about the same, but more cup. Its a big prop and I have the motor to spin it, so not sure if a 351 gets the same benefits that my boat does. I do like it way better than the 644 though.

I asked Delta Props the Same question and this is their response..? Maybe I better not go with the #1234... Natedog... I wonder if they would recommend the same for your 96? and why would it fit a 96 and not a 95? interesting..??

Not being familiar with props and such, I would guess the Pitch is the important factor not as much as diameter? the #1234 has a14.25 pitch and the #1464 as quoted also has that pitch, the only difference is diameter of 1" diameter smaller (to fit).. but doesnt a smaller diameter then move less water?

(from Delta Prop - Email response)
                Hello,
Acme does not recommend using the 1234 propeller on your boat (clearance issues)
                Use the following propeller instead
                13.5 RH 14.25 x 1 1/8” ACME
                4 Blade CNC Machines Propeller

Natedog.. thanks for the photos.. Here are a couple of mine.. I have ni-bral 14x18 3-blade now..... it does 40-42 top speed, but cant plane out with full ballast. I emailed Delta and they said acme doesnt recommend it for my application?? using the #1234, so I emailed Acme direct to see what they say (just in case).... I have a 14 on there now and I still have a good 1 inch+ of clearance to the stainless plate, so a 14.5 (#1234) shouldnt be an issue when it comes to clearance, thats only .5 more diameter. I dont see a problem fitting that?? I dont want to go to a 13.5 as suggested by Delta... thats .5" less diameter than what I have now!? doesnt make sense. I have a Gt-40 with 310 HP, it should have any problem turning that 14.5 prop. and it would fit...??

i am pretty sure the 95 is exactly the same as my 96 and i have zero issues planinng with 750's full 600 full in center and 8-9 people in the boat, and most of my guy friends are 250 + so in theory i ride with 12-14 people in the boat, and usually only one person in the bow who is my girlfriend thats a buck 25 soaking wet, i also have the gt 40 efi 310 horse and it turns the prop with ease, i was hesitant at first because i spent 500 on the prop and was gona shoot myself if it didn't fit but there are zero fit issues! good luck, ps i might be hitting your links up at the end of the summer for the automated ballast install bc the pumps over the boat suck, haha, oh yea did you get a tower yet or you rocking the ballast without!?

Hey I think I will try the #1234.. I feel pretty confident it will be perfect.

If you want to go on the cheap for the ballast, do what I did. I plan to add more pumps but I am running 1 johnson ($170) for now. Going from a single thru-hull ($45) into a home made 1" pvc manifold set-up that cost me about ($50) and some 1" and 3/4" hose.. and some misc hardware... not a big expense for a big convenience. The switch was ($15). Get it all from Wakemakers and save with the PN Discount.... It may take a little longer for it to fill 3 bags with 1 pump, but my wallet is happy now and I might be able to buy that prop. Birthday is this week so the wife is asking what I want.. I told her a prop.. haha.

No tower yet, heck, I can barely afford the gas for that thing now! I use the boat alot with the family and we drive around alot on the weekends on the river, so I go thru a tank of gas (35 gal) in 2 weekends.. thats $140 a tank.. The tower will have to wait til next year, then the bimini and expense. I just dropped in 4 new Polk DB651's and a JL Audio 10" Sub and Alpine amp... so its getting there. Plus we have some low bridges around here that would limit my access if I had the tower.. so I am still a little reluctant to do that right away.

Thanks for all the advice guys on this forum, it helps !

Just got a reply from Bill at Acme...

"The 1234-14.50X14.25VR4B 1.125 .105 cup four blade nibral prop will do a great job. The 1234 sells for $659.00. We do back all the ski boat props that we sell direct with a 30 day money back guarantee."
I will have to get it thru Delta with the PN discount...

Guess thats the one (of course it has to be the most expensive prop out there!).. just cant win... haha

This is a 1272 on my o1 SAN. This is how close a 14.5" prop is on our boats. Its way closer than I would have thought was safe, but the prop is bad to the bone. I love the performance.

WOW, that is close.. looks like about .5"... but you have the stainless guard and the prop is not going to get any closer, so as long as the gel coat is protected.... I will get the #1234 and post some pics, but Im sure they will look like Natedogs!
I look forward to not Dragging A$$ down the river trying to pull 2000# ballast out on plane.... right now Im just not going anywhere... really! nose to the sky and prop digging a trench!

Hey NateDog... you may want to check into one of the Stainless Prop/Rudder guards we have added.. keep an eye on the gel coat around the ridder mounting plate.. the prop wash eats away the gel especially if its closer than stock... I see in your pics that you didnt have one. I think I paid $65 and mounted it myself.. really easy. Use Stainless screws and 4200... its a worthwhile addition.. even if you dont have any problems yet... when I bought my boat last year (used) it had some gel coat eaten away around the square brass mount plate already...so I added the plate. just a thought.
