    Transom Pylon removal

I'm looking for some advice. I have heard that on some boats the transom plyon is actually a "structural member" of the hull. Does anyone know if that is the case for Nautique? I have a 2001 SAN and we never tow from the transom, so I would like to remove the plyon since it always seems to be in the way. I just want to be sure this won't cause any issues later.

I'm not sure about the structural integrity question. However, here is an interesting thread about making it retractable...
