    This supports my two relay issue. ECM goes off...fuel stays on....rpm falls below 400 and spark control is handed over to the ignition module and the engine fires up again. I'd have to study it all in person. The GT40 book doesn't give me enough info.

      Correct. The starter does not crank when it fires back up after dying. It surprised the you know what out of me the first time it happened.

      I'm not sure I understand your comment though. Which theory does it support? I have tried replacing the fuel relay and the ECM relay that is next to it, but that did not stop the stalling problem.

        Yes, I was wondering about those relays with the clicking sounds you heard. But you already replaced those.

        There are also solenoids below the ECM by the FCC, have you checked those?

        I think the main cable from the battery goes to one then passes directly through to the starter.

        I think the solenoid itself then powers up the ignition system.

        Maybe you can check all of those connections at the solenoid.

          The relays are good...something could be (like toggle or kill switch) cutting the power (or reducing voltage) to one or both of the relays. Lets say it is the ECM relay so it loses power or chatters and the fuel stays on (they may be powered separtely or have coils that drop out at different voltages). So ignition has trouble but fuel stays on (perhaps injecting - but at least primed) then either 1) the eca comes back on and "boots" and can't figure things out or 2) ignition control is passed over to the module which happens when the RPM is less than 400 (by design).

          Replacing the relays probably won't help. They are proablay good but can be tested.
