Retrieve Hours Log from Chevy Apex?

I have a 200 air, DD with the Chevy Apex. I have the digital gauges and Perfect Pass. My digital gauges are starting to fade, and it is getting difficult to read the hours. I know that some engines/systems do not have a way to log/retrieve the hours, but I seem to recall someone suggesting that the chevys do. Is this correct, and if so does anyone know how you can do it? I have not found any tricks to get the hours through perfect pass.

    Thanks.

This is a guess, but I think an OBD1 code reader for GM engines can access the data from the ASDL (Assembly Line Data Link)

Did you mean you have a year 2000 Air Nautique?

Yes, 2000 air - sorry for the typo!

I will see if I can get a scanner to try it out.

      Thanks, Chris

you can pull the hours information from any Chevrolet based motor. A Ford motor is the only one that you can't pull this information from.
