    2001 SAN Bilge Problem

I have a 2001 SAN and it's in great shape, only 140 hours. For the first time ever, I'm having a problem with the bilge pumps, they just don't work. I've taken it out of the water as it had a foot of water in it. When I turn on my on/off/bilge switch in the morning the red LED doesn't light up. The bilge switch seems to light up but the bilge pumps don't work. I'm wondering about the easist way to troubleshoot this problem. I've found both pumps, cleaned out the debris filters but cannot find the plugs to the pumps to see if 12v will fire them up. I also don't know how to test the on/off/bilge switch or the keypad. Any suggestions would be great. thanks!

Well I typed up a response, then the iPad lost it...

Check your circuit beakers first. If that doesn't work, get a volt meter, put it on 25vdc (more or less is fine, just as long as it's over 12), put the red prong on the positive wire to the pump, black prong to ground and see if you get a voltage differential. If you do, make sure your pump has a good ground. If it does, the pump is probably bad. If you get no voltage differential on the meter and the cb or fuse is good, you probably have a bad switch. Or a rat got in there and chewed the wire apart.

    Hope that helps.
