Better Engine Access on Port Side

This may be the dumbest post ever, but I am relatively new to my 05 Air Nautique 226 and thinking I may as well change out the spark plugs. It actually have very few hours (<200), but I figure it can't hurt d/t age. Anyway, removing the starboard divider was nice and simple to gain much better access to the side of the motor, but what about the port (walkthrough) side. There are two distinct dividers, but I can't see for the life of me how they can be removed. Please help... Thanks so much!

Do you have to put the switch in or can you just put a wire from pin 6 to 9 and close the circuit?
