Which Way To Pull New Steering Cable

I'm finally going to replace my steering cable on my 2000 SN. Which way do I pull? Front to back or back to front? Thanks

Are you asking which way to pull the old cable out or pull the new cable in??

Pull the old cable out by pulling from the helm end. Tie a rope around the rudder end and let it run through to the helm as the old cable is removed. When the old cable is out, move the rope onto the new cable and feed the new cable in from the helm end. Have someone help it on it's way by gently pulling on the rope from the rear of the boat. Make sure the rudder end of the cable is pushed into the outer cable to shorten the end rod as much as possible.

Shouldn't be too difficult on a 2000 SN unless you have a heater.
