The Apex was a transition engine used for a few years. It is not a bad engine, but was available for people who just had to have a GM engine in their boat. I cannot remember if it was throttle body injection, or multiport injection.
The big issue with the Apex engine if I remember correctly is the oil filter location. Originally, it had a spin on filter on the bottom of the block, in the standard GM small block location, and toward the end of the production run, it got the remote oil filter mount that is on Excaliber engines. I also think you can get the remote filter mount kit from PCM, if you want to.
Changing the oil and filter on the bottom mount filter is usually a PITA, and will involve having to wash and clean the bilge when you are done. With a remote mount filter, you just loosen the filter slightly, slip a plastic bag over the filter, and not a drop of oil gets in the bilge.
By the way, if you have a GT-40 Ford engine, drain the oil, let it sit overnight, and then change the filter, and it will greatly reduce the oil that spills when doing a filter change.

Thanks for the reply. I did a little research and found out it is a multiport injection, also you can check the motor hours. If need be I can add a remote oil filter setup.
yes you can with the diacom system as the apex engine is a gm engine with the delphi mefi 4 controller on it. The APEX is the same engine that GM marketed to the hotrod community as the RAMJET 350 in the GM performance parts catalog. Good motor, precursor to the Excalibur engine.
