Losing power at top end, air or fuel???

2003 210 SAN. When I'm running full throttle, the engine starts to cut out on me. It feels like it's either not getting enough air or fuel. When I pull it back to 3/4, it runs great. Any thoughts or help on what to check? I checked the "air filter" and it seems pretty clean. Thanks...

You're probably hitting the rev limiter. At the limit, the ECU cuts fuel delivery so you don't over-rev.

I bought it new in 2003 and have put 400 hrs on it and it's never happened before. I don't know why the rev limiter setting could change. Any thoughts?

Just to rule it out, did you recently change props?

Borrow a fuel pressure guage from somewhere like Autozone and put it on the fuel rail. Check to see if the fuel pressure drops when the engine starts to cut out. If it is dropping at the same time it is likely one of the fuel pumps or a clogged filter. If it is dropping, let it idle for a minutes or so and see if it runs high rpm's for a bit before it drops fuel pressure, if so it is the low pressure pump and/or filter. If it does it immediatly, it is probably the high pressure pump (inside the fuel control cell) and/or filter. There should be a pre-filter back by the tank (I'm not really sure of the location on the 210) and a secondary filter inside the fuel control cell, I would change them both.
