Tach Hourmeter change - how to log hours?

I'm replacing the tach/hm on by 2002 196 LE. What is the best way to log the hours to assure a potential buyer they are accurate.

I would (a) note the hours now and the day in a log and keep that log and (b) if you have perfect pass, I think you can manually set the hours with a reset. I'm not sure about adding hours to a new tach.

So does PerfectPass keep up with the hours as well?

If the new tach is analog, just hook it up to a battery and let the hours tick up until you were where you were. If the old gauge is analog, just hang onto it for verification. If it's digital, the Perfect Pass (if it was original) would be your best bet.

The original gauge is digital. I think the new gauges is analog (this is it except that it's white):

How do I get the hours from the perfect pass to the new gauge?

            Thanks.

As east tx skier pointed out, the only way to put hours onto the new gauge is by hooking it up to a battery and letting it tick them off manually. There have been a number of threads regarding that previously and I don't believe anyone has come up with an easier method, which is probably good as I'd rather it not be TOO easy to modify the hours on those gauges.
