Interesting I have never seen a toggle switch on my boat like you described and show in ur picture.. I will look for it.. Is it hiding under the throttle control? To The right of the drivers seat I have the throttle, safety kill switch with lanyard, two guages and two switches for ballast tanks and thats it from what I recall. Thanks again for the help.. I will go to the river this weekend and trouble shooot the items given above.

did you check the toggle switch? it is not clear to me what you changed. It appears to me you only messed with the kill switch.

You are correct. I only chnaged out the kill switch.. I was informed by the local correct craft dealer, when I went to purchase the kill switch and toggle switch, that my boat (2003 model 206 l) does not have a toggle switch, since my boat did not come with the electronic key pad(mine has a normal key ignition). Does that makes sense? I looked around , I did not see any toggle switch as you described.

Thanks for your help.. its frustrating when the water is perfect and the boat stops or wont start. Recap from the last 4 days of boating. It sounds pefect when running. Some times starts and runs perfect for all day. Somtimes wont start up, Ill keep trying for 5-10 mins doing nothing other than just waiting between starts.. and than it starts and runs . Than somtimes starts pefect will be running and than just shuts off while driving at any speed for a split second and restarts and keeps going. 85% of the time it starts perfect. 15% it wont start on the first try and yet given 4-8 tries over 10 mins it starts like nothings wrong. 98% of the time while driving at any speed and towing or not towing it runs perfect(smooth water, rough water seems to make no different). 2% it quits running for a brief second and restarts , and occasionally it will quit and will have to restart.. sometimes starts right back up sometimes it takes several tries. For now I go up river only..

Any help is greatly appreciated.. what to test next??

That's good trivia.....L models don't have toggle switches.

It would nice to know if you have spark on the occasions it won't start. Can you get one of those inductive spark indiators and take with you? (don't do the "pull a plug wire off trick")

If you don't have spark, my first guess is the Ignition Control Module.

Did you intend "L" to mean Limited? I forget which has no keypad "L" or "S".

Try this link for the tool I'm talking about. Everyone should own one. you just hold it up to the plug or coil wire and check for spark.

Another problem could be the fuel pump relay. But I'd run this spark test first.

no the L meant nothing. I just hit the "L" by mistake (2003 model 206).

Thanks I will get a spark tester..

Wouldn't that throw a code on the dash?
Next time, wiggle it and see what happens.

Interesting. I think I'm having the lanyard issue right now as we speak. I have never seen a toggle switch (2003 216) on my boat. Do I have one? Whats it for?

Check the grounds at the battery and on the block. I had a similar problem years ago and due to the vibration and pounding the negative battery terminal had worked itself up the post and was intermittently losing contact. Drove me crazy until I checked. Always start with the easy stuff, sometimes you get lucky.

Gotcha. So both the toggle and the kill switch have a reputation of going bad?
