    Spark Plug Alternatives

    Hi,

Can anyone provide an alternative NGK or Bosch spark plug equivalent for a 2005 196 with an Excalibur 330 fitted.

I have AC Delco 41-932 plugs fitted but I'm having trouble tracking them down in the UK.

I am sure the guys at Midlands Nautique or Nautique Marine would supply you with correct plugs.

41-932 was changed by AC Delco to 41-993 ....try that.

If you have to switch brands, have the counterman look up plugs for a 1998 Chevy Truck with the 5.7L engine....same plug.

You can go to http://www.rockauto.com/ and do it yourself to see all the choices of brands/grades (e.g. plain, platinum, iridium, etc.)

        Hi,
Thanks for that. I spoke to the guys from Midlands Nautique and they wanted £150 for 8 plugs delivered.

Ouch. I know the proper PCM ones (RP030010) are platinum and you should expect 300-500hrs from them but that is expensive.

Redzed...did you check the number I gave you? Perhaps at your local auto parts dealer?

              Hi Airtool,

Yes, I did. I even spoke to NGK UK, who only seemed to complicate matters. Apparently, platinum have now been replaced by iridium plugs I now have a list of about 8 different plugs of differing specifications that various auto parts dealers and manufacturers have given me.

Luckily I have a friend in Miami at the moment so he is going to bring a set back. That should alleviate the problem for 500 hours
