    Lubrication

    Hello @ all

The steering of my Ski Nautique 1990 goes too heavily. :x
How do you lubricate the steering of your Nautique?
    Or is there another solution?

    Thanks!

More than likely you have a cable that has gotten stiff. You can disconnect the cable from the rudder and check there. If it still feels stiff when you turn the wheel after the cable is disconnected, then it needs a new cable. It is also a good time to grease the rudder too. See if there is a zirk fitting there. If there isn't, you have to drop the rudder out of the port and grease it. If you have to replace the cable and the rudder, it will probably take you 2.5-3 hours to do it or about $350-$400 at your dealershp for parts and labor. Cables are about $190.

If you do find a zerk fitting on the rudder / cable, be careful to not over-do the grease. The tolerances within the steering system are very tight, a little grease will go a long way. Too much grease will bind the system...good luck
