    Gt40 running cold and lumpy

    Hi all.
Having some issues with my 01 210 gt40. The temperature gauge does not go above 130. I'm sure it used to run around 160. I removed the thermostat and found it very dirty and generally in bad condition. I swapped the thermostat for a new one but the temperature gauge still not moving above 130.
Also since it appears to be running cooler its been running a bit lumpy. When revving it up it sounds fine but when coming out of the hole it seems to struggle for a couple of seconds then suddenly picks up really well. It's as if its intermittently misfiring?
Any ideas where to start looking?

    Thanks guys

How old are the parts in the secondary side of the ignition system?
Wire from ignition coil, distributer cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and spark plugs.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. They could all do with being changed to be honest so will get them all done hopefully this week.
Do I need to purchase these parts from my dealer or can I het them from elsewhere? If do does anyone have part numbers etc?
My main concern is the cold running issue.
When its running, one of the hoses going to the thermostat housing is cold and the other 2 are hot. Is this correct?

Not really sure what else would cause it to run cold.

      Thanks

Removed the thermostat again today and checked it was the right one and also tested it in some hot water. Seems ok.
Earthed the temperature sender wire and the gauge went right over.
Can't really see what else could cause it to run cold?.
Am I right in thinking that if the impellar was no good or there was a blockage it would run hot rather than cold? Could it just be the temperature sender is no good and reading low?

        Thanks

Don't worry guys I have sorted it. It was the sender.
I removed it and it was all coked up and the end that the wire connects to was corroded.
I did a simple test to check its functionality. I earthed the thread to simulate it being screwed into the engine. Connected the signal end to the gauge then put it in some boiling water.
          The gauge stopped at 130.

I then cleaned the entire sender with a wire brush and tried the test again. The gauge then went to 180 and stopped.

So still not working fully so have ordered a new one.
