GT40 trouble on the restart when warm.

I'm having problems with my 1998 cb Ski Nautique not wanting to restart after it has been run for a while. The thing runs like a champ until you turn it off, then I have to Give it full throttle to get it running enough to limp home. After it cools down a while (20 min) it runs like a champ again. I have checked that the fresh air hose is still plugged in. Some one mentioned that was a problem. I also heard mentioned that the MAP sensor might be the issue? I have checked the kill swith and that is fastened well. I also have changed the fuel filter. Has anyone had a simular problem that can pinpoint this issue.

Low pressure fuel pump is often the culprit with these symptoms.

      Do this.

The Gt-40 engine does not have any feedback into the engine's computer on what the air to fuel ratio actually is. It just has tables on how long it should leave the injectors open, depending on the input from various sensors. The computer assumes the fuel pressure is correct, and opens the injectors for the programmed time, depending on sensor input.

If you are having driveability issues with a GT-40 engine. you must check the fuel pressure, when the problems are happening.

Sounds like fuel pump to me. I will check the pressure next time it acts up. Its funny, It is not consistent at all. That would be the easy fix though. Thanks for the help. I'm kind of stranded up here in Alaska with no Mechanic to rely on. The dealer dropped the line several years back.
