    Replacing Antifreeze 2008 5.7 L PCM 390

    All,

Despite reviewing the manual from PCM, I can't seem to figure out how to drain all the Dexcool antifreeze out. I've removed all the drain plugs I could find and unhooked from the pump hose @ the rear of the engine (this seems to be the lowest point) ....despite this, I'm only able to drain about 6-7 quarts, manual says something like 15-17 quarts, any idea what I am missing?

    thx for any help!

I don't see how that number could be right. I have the same engine in my Tahoe and with the big radiator I couldn't drain that much. That's more than four gallons.

I don't get it either, I just checked the PCM manual, page 54 says "18 quarts"....just don't see how it could hold that much. One correction: I have the PCM 6.0 L ZR6 390HP.

I agree that this cannot be correct. If you have pulled all the plugs and unhooked the hose at the lowest point, then there is nothing else for you to do. Have you consulted a local mechanic to verify this? That is a large difference, and I would want a second opinion!
Has anyone used Angie's List to find help with boat repair?

I just drained mine today and all I could get out of it was about 8 quarts(that includes what was in the heater lines). I wasn't able to locate the engine block drains. Any ideas where these are located?
