I have a 83 Ski Nautique 2001 powered by a 351 Ford Windsor motor and and velvet drive borge warner 1:1 Trans. Boat is awesome and I have fixed many things on the motor to keep it going strong and reliable. Problem, a month ago Trans started leaking out bell housing.. So I jacked the motor up and pulled the Trans.. Looked to be the pump gasket was gone and tore bad, letting the Trans pump, pump out Trans fluid into the bell housing.. ordered both gaskets for the pump.. installed and no leak for 2 long runs, then after wakeboarding for a 3rd run checked the Trans fluid and it was low.. started leaking again.. Now the old oil seal front pump was a metal ring with a rubber gasket molded on.. I knocked that out and installed the new gasket. New gasket is all rubber and fits good, spring is sill on there. I know how to fix many things, new to Trans.. What is causing it to leak? I believe the leak has to be coming from the oil seal front pump, no fluid around pump (has new gasket) and bolts are all tight. What can I do to keep it from leaking? Thanks for any help provided
