    Zr6-409

I just bought a '09 SAN 210 with the ZR6-409 engine and I am interested in any of your thought about this motor. I haven't been able to take it out and run it since it freaking snowed here last week. Anyways, do any of you have thoughts about this motor; reliability, performance, fuel economy, things to watch out for etc.

    Thanks!

It just needs to be used as often as possible and it really likes when you post pictures of your sweet new ride. And sorry to hear about the snow. We are riding tomorrow afternoon...

Some of the 409's suffered from cooling issues, so Ive heard. You may want to familiarize yourself with how to bleed the air from the cooling system if your temps start to creep up.

Other than that, great motor. The 6.0L's dont come out of the hole any stronger than the 350 based motors- and may give up some low-mid range grunt to the Fords- but at 3500+ RPM they scream. Tons of top end, and very smooth.

bullet proof engine for sure. But you may want to keep an extra potentiometer and fuel pump on hand.

I've had my ZR6-409 for almost 4years with NO problems here in San Diego.
Great reliability, performance and best of all Insane fuel economy!
I run this beast in my 210 SAN in 100% saltwater so with the closed cooling and everything else it has it's pretty much BOMB proof for coastal use and of course NUKE proof for Fresh water.
                Enjoy your new SAN!

You are a very lucky man . We need pictures to properly critique this boat.
