    stream from prop seal

Purchased my first boat this year, a 2008 sv211. Was running the boat in the driveway before I drain the oil while winterizing and noticed that the is a good stream of water coming from the prop seal. I figured that it's suppose to leak since it's got a hose going to it. Question is, how much do they usually leak? Is a stream too much?

    Thanks

That is the dripless packing gland. You should have a decent stream, probably 3/16" - 1/4" in diameter. That water is what helps cool and lubricate the shaft seal instead of it dripping inside the hull like a normal packing gland would. Yours sounds normal. Rock on!
