    hub/wheel.. what is this?

here is a pic of the center of my wheel, the hub, where a buddy bearing would be. im not sure what kinda bearing set up this is. i was winterizing yest and i noticed that the center was pushed out and blue was showing. its usually flush. never seen this before... not cuz i didnt see but cuz its never been like that. when you push on the inter most part, it will go in some.

    a. what is this?
    b. what does this mean?
    c. is there something that needs to be done and if so, what?

Here goes: Isn't that the "bearing buddy"? When the blue is "gone" your wheel hubs need grease; the blue is showing so you still have grease. Nothing needed at this time.

Some guys repack every couple years or so, depending on use and mileage between repacks.

That is a trailer buddy. Put them on last year after UFP gave them to me to replace the oil baths. Towed several thousand miles with them, no problems. http://www.ufpnet.com/Portals/0/PDFs...aintenance.pdf
