LED interior lighting and LED underwater lights

I have a 1984 Ski Nautique in really good condition. I am wanting to keep it close to origianl but make it different. I wan to install the Atwood underwater lights and some LED interior lighting. Good idea or Bad idea? I am on the water alot at night booze cruising and going to the bar.

Atwoods probably are not the first choice, do a search on "LED"s and you should find several (many) threads with a TON of pictures, recommendations and comparisons.

    Enjoy the picture show!

These were the ones I was going to use. They are the OEM lights that Nautique uses on the Super Air's.

I can get them on Amazon for about half the price.

I ordered the OEM underwater lights on my 09 196. They were the white Attwoods from SargAdam's post.

I took them off before the boat ever got wet. These are about the cheapest made underwater LED lights I have ever seen. Plastic and tin. I was super disappointed in the quality and would never recommend them to anyone. I installed Abyss L800's, great light well made, a little pricey but I've had them on for two seasons with no problems.

Color. Be careful with this one. I used blue but am in water that sees zero public safety activity. Blue on the water is reserved for public safety use and I have heard of some individuals getting hassled by the man for having blue ones. Same for red or green if they really wanted to be picky. My guess is Correct Craft puts on white ones because there is less chance of a customer getting a ticket.

There's a reason they make bug zappers in blue brings them in.

Those Abyss lights are pretty salty. If the atwood lights are cheap then why would Nautique use them for their underwater OEM lights besides cost?

I have 2 shadow casters, and must recommend them. They are pricey, but imo, some of, if not the best.... I have them mounted in a custom made bar, and they even light up the wake perfectly for night surfing. (not that anything like that actually occurs behind my boat)

The rest of the navigation lights are Attwood, makes sense to use the same vendor for the under waters.

I have a Bullet X8000 light that I pulled from my boat and replaced with a shadowcaster (wanted a wider beam spread). It is blue, a $300 light that has been sitting on my shelf for over a year, I will ship it to you for $100 if you want it. I had it mounted opposite the exhaust port. It is very very bright but the beam is a bit narrow. Hit me up at mikeskiw@gmail.com if you want it. Here is a picture of it on the boat and one of it in my pool before I installed it.

By the way, I used to have all blue LEDs on the boat and was probably the first to actually get a ticket for having blue LEDs. For the underwater LEDs you can run blue but here in California you have a good chance of getting a ticket with blue LEDs that are visible from outside the boat.
