    Which Perfect Pass

I have a 2003 216 Sport DD with the PCM 275hp engine. I am looking at fitting perfect pass. We ski and board in a river with a relatively slow current. Which perfect pass unit should I get?

I put the stargazer in my '05. Install took about 3 hrs. Had no speed control previously. Have had no problems in 2 years of use, love it.

If you are regularly skiing or boarding in a current, call Perfect Pass and ask them about the "river mode" option for Stargazer. It will defer speed to the paddle wheel in river mode. A pure GPS system is going to be pretty useless in a river current.

        2002 SN 196 with PerfectPass

I have a 2002 SN 196 that has the original PerfectPass and I am looking to upgrade the display and was wondering what would be the advantages of going a little bit further and upgrading to Stargazer.

Stargazer uses gps speed and has no input from the water below, which eliminates turbulence, turning differences, hull shape, etc. It has two modes, one uses speed control for boarding, and one uses rpm control for skiing. Once set up, it works great. I bought mine from perfect pass online.

I use stargazer in a river that can have up to 5 mph flow and have no problems, you just bump the speed up when travelling downstream.
