So, DanielC your basically saying that if I am running E10 during the ski season im ok. If i am burning alot of fuel and keeping the tank full. My concerns should be winter storage, and if thats the case just store with a full tank and add stabil. Is this your take?
In emergency situations in the past I fueled my boat on the water at a dock station or marina. I only pump a gallon or so just to get me back to the dock because these stations are famous for water in the gas. So I do know the symptoms of water in the tank. The sluggish sputtering and such. What about the alcohol? Im guessing alcohol might possibly be good for a carb(cleaning it out), but how does it effect EFI if at all?
If possible I want to avoid this E10 at all costs for the record. Im a fan of the good ol' fashion gasoline

So I treated my fuel that " may contain up to 10% ethanol" with the blue stabil before storing for the winter. Should I also have used he red or is the blue a one stop shop? So white lake is recommending treating every tank evenin the summer when used regularly?2007 196 Limited Zero Off

In Mass-A-Chews-Its, we have had 10% ethanol fuel for 7+ years. In came in after MBTE was taken off the market. You cannot buy non 10% Ethanol fuel except perhaps for aviation fuel. Never have had an issue with it all my gasoline powered equipment which includes a 22 year old ariens snowblower, a 10 year old pressure washer, a 8 year old John Deere lawn tractor, 2 motorcycles, my 69 Plymouth GTX, and the 2 daily drivers. I do use stabil and started using marine stabil.

I am with DanielC. For my entire driving life in MN, with the midwest being the heart of ethanol, I have had to use e10. I have owned 3 nautiques, the first one being an 85. Within the first year, I rebuilt the carb, heck, it was 15 years old at the time, it needed it. 6 years and 400 hours later, I never had a problem, original fuel system too (hoses, diaghram pump ect). I have owned several cars with never a fuel system issue. I have helped build mustangs, mostly for the street using standard fuel system components (hoses, larger pumps) not specifically rated for use with ethanol, but ran the cars using E85, making 600-850hp depending on the car. The car that made 850 has been using that same fuel system for 5 years, without a change of anything other than the tuning parameters to make it compatible with e85.
Ethanol sucks, it kills gas mileage, but e85 with 105+ octane is a heck of a cheap race fuel. But as far as it's reputation for destroying cars and small motors because of the alcohol content, it is just lore. I have never seen a problem firsthand or even heard of a problem second hand other than on the internet that could be traced back to ehtanol blended fuels (other than the above mentioned non e85 compatible car having ti in the tank, I have seen that before). If it was so dammaging, it would be way more prevelent in my area where the use of ethanol is very widespread.

Sorry to bump this after more than a week, but I thought those of you looking for non-ethanol stations might find this site useful:
