    2005 ZR6 in Limp Mode

I got a 2005 SV211 with a ZR6. We ran a diacom diagnostic and no trouble codes were pulled. However, on the Load Test we determined that Cylinders 2,3,5 & 8 were not firing. What confused me is that there is no Check Engine light on, nor is there any trouble codes. Is this "limp mode"? What would cause this, and any recommendations on the fix?

      Change your spark plugs.

We changed the plugs, checked all the plug wires, all is good on that front.

Last year I put new ignition on at 400 hrs, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs and went to bama for a week vacation. Boat ran like crap, thought it was ethanol issues. Changed fuel filter, added more stabil, replaced spark plugs (which were fouling), and even pulled the prop (possibly bent??). Just had to live with it!! Got home, slapped a timing light on each plug wire, and three cylinders were cross firing on other cylinders. Put a cheap zone cap and rotor (other set was high dollar pcm) and ran like a scalded ape immediately. Moral, don't overlook the simple stuff, even if it is "new". Good luck.

Might want to check the silver switch down by the ballast guages. They do go bad. I had a wire fall off the back of the switch, causing the boat to go into limp mode. Not sure if any check engine lights came on or not. Just a suggestion.

I will certainly check the silver switch. I have talked with Correct Craft, they think it may be an ECU failure, $1,200 part! I hope not...

Have you checked for spark on those cylinders. If they are firing then check the injectors to see if they are firing, you can use a timing light hooked over the ground wire for the injector and the light will flash like it was on a spark plug wire. Good luck
