FH suggests coating the threads of its fittings with PVC cement when fitting up the sacs in a piggy back system. Is this for water tight fitting or to prevent the fitting from backing out, or what? What is the consensus among you guys that have done set ups? just wondered if the step can be skipped.

I never use PVC cement I have a set of bags that the installer had used it on and those fittings won't come out total pita. They have orings and I've never had leak issues witout using the PVC cement I will never use it on my setups.Current '02 sante full '06 updated

I talked with somebody from Fly High and asked this very question. The answer I was told is that if the sack is crammed into some compartment and filled, the fittings could be pressed up against the sidewalls and come under a bind. The cement helps to hold them in in this situation. In my installation, there is no way for them to come under a bind like this, so I just used teflon tape.
