Yep...the nod is all you need. If you would have dropped the package in the box on the street, by law it is supposed to go parcel post even if marked first class.

I think it is ridiculous...but I think that about most of our government and their laws.

Well, I asked for tracking info and they didn't have it. So it was intentionally sent parcel post.

On the positive side of things, they emailed me today to see if I had received it yet. I told them I would let them know when I did.

It is lost. There is no way parcel post should take this long from GA to TX. Even the pony express was faster. I just received a package parcel post from Louisiana to Dallas. It took 2 days.

I agree! I hate to say it but this kind of stuff happens albeit rarely. No body likes it especially us at the factory. We are making it good by replacing the package and doubling East TX Skier's order and sending it FedEx for his troubles. You in business know that s#*t like this does happen and is out of our control. We here at BTS want all of our customers to love the product and and our service as well.

Rob, that certainly is kind of you, albeit unnecessary. I understand that things get lost and, as I mentioned earlier, I recognize I could have chose to spend a couple of bucks more on FedEx, but did not, not realizing which USPS services would be used. Again, that's on me for making assumptions and not asking ahead of time.

While you're on here, would you mind answering my earlier question about what BTS is other than "polymers." I'm not asking for the secret formula or anything. But am curious about it before I use it on my gel coat. Is it silicone based? Is it petroleum based? Does it have any waxes in it? What is the SPF of the UV protectant? I poured over your site, but didn't find too much in answer to these questions.

As for the original package, if it ever shows up, I'll pass it along to someone in our ski club as goodwill to C.I. for some good customer service.

            Thanks again.

              Doug,

Thank you for your understanding. We want you to be happy with BTS and confident in its use. As for the ingredients, of course it is a proprietary secret. To answer your questions directly:

              (1) No, it is not silicone based. There are SI atoms in some of the molecules but the same can be said for 90+% of the waxes and protection products out there. Heck even most moisturizers and sunscreens for your skin and conditioners for your hair contain silicone. But silicone oils, no. The days when silicone was a dirty word are gone. The polymer industry has come a long way in the last 10-15 years.

              (2) If we listed the ingredients, they would be 10 twenty-eight-letter words that very few people would be able to pronounce let alone understand. Plus it would take up way to much label space.

              (3) No, there are no petroleum distillates in BTS, one of the few products of this category that can state that.

              (4) The UV agents we use are state of the art and are made up of UV reflectors and UV absorbers. Other products use some combination of UV agents in their products but we are not aware of any that use anything as sophisticated as we use in BTS. UV additives are one thing, getting them to stick and stay on the surface they are intended to protect is another. This is one of the areas that BTS excels. Our agents bond to the surface. This cannot be said for any other products I am aware of and trust me; I keep on top of this subject. Some make references that their product is, “like SPF 40 for your stuff”. If that measure is to be used even if incorrectly, I would say that BTS is like SPF 120 that stays in place for months instead of hours or days.

              (5) No, there are no waxes in BTS. Wax is OK but is really old school and has limited protection and UV ability. The industry as a whole is turning away from it especially when dealing with things made of synthetics. BTW, all modern boats are made of synthetic components sans the wood and metal parts.

If you haven’t seen it yet, there is a good explanation of BTS at: http://www.btsprotectant.com/about/btsdifference/. I hope this helps.

I finally got a chance (mine got here in 2 days via USPS) to apply some of the BTS to my boat, and I will say that I noticed it brought back a nice shine to the "hull color" gelcoat on my 230. There was an area on the transom that was a bit oxidized, after 2 coats of BTS it looks as though I "waxed" or polished it. I treated a few strategic spots to gauge the effectiveness, I'll report back what I see.

I just noticed a message from a day or so ago from Rob at BTS. He had called about my missing order. The personal touch was much appreciated, Rob.

Just got done using BTS on the boat I sold to my buddy. Its a 90 Sport that lives on a lift over saltwater. I used diluted muriatic acid first to clean the hull then applied the BST. The boat looks great like its just been waxed. It will not clean like rubbing compound but I really did not expect it to. We will be skiing tomorrow and I will apply a second application. Will report back later.

I ordered some last night and will try it. If this is not a wax how does it protect? I thought wax was there to protect yor boat.

I ordered a couple bottles and gallon refill late last night and it had already shipped when I checked my email this morning. I cant wait to only use one product on the whole boat if this stuff lives up to the hype!!
