    Repairing Hull Damage

I was looking at this 2005 SAN 210 with damage to the hull. Can anyone tell from the photo if this can easily be repaired. Also, the owner said he had it out last week surfing behind it in this condition. Do I need to be concerned about that?

Sorry about that. Here is the photo. The guy says the damage happened when he was taking the boat out of the water and it came down on two screws. I think this photo is taken somewhere near the wheel.

It's down to the fiberglass so you defiantly need to repair the gel coat. The only hard part about the repair will be location... Getting the trailer out of the way so you can properly fix it. For a quick fix you could squeeze for 3M 5200 sealant on there so it would be water-tight but that will make the real repair more difficult.

If you can get to it, shouldn't be that tough of a fix. Other's can weigh in on the guy surfing with it like that. I wouldn't have done it.

            I'd guess 300-450 for repair.

Repair looks relatively minor. But I would never recommend using a boat with that sort of damage below the water line. The fiberglass will act like a sponge and may create blistering later on.

I had damage like that on my 2000 when I picked it up. Mine was the size of the back hole. Because of where it was it cost me $700 because he had to color match.. I wouldn't run it again before fixing it.
