    Perfect pass question

Hi. I have a 2006 SAN210 and the perfect pass has just started messing about. Ok here is what it is doing. When I set the speed and gun the boat fast out of the hole the perfect pass will lock in fine but I don't like to drive that way. When I start to excelerate smoothly with a smooth throttle up to the point the perfect pass locks on the speed it will be to say it has locked but then will slow down about 4 mph the exacerbate quickly back up to speed and it will keep doing this. Have any of you guys had this problem or know what may be the cause?

    Thanks

Probably the computer box for the perfect pass. I have heard other people talk about this and some have sent their boxes in for repair/replacement. Mine does it too (I have the stargazer upgrade). On the first startup it won't lock in and will hunt up and down like you describe. If I turn the engine off and then restart, the problem goes away for the rest of the day.

Interesting to hear that if you hammer it out of the hole it locks in fine. Does it keep working correctly after that?

Have you tried adjusting the pull setting values in the settings menu? For Stargazer you have to play with the KDW value if it surges like that.

Make sure after you advance the throttle to the set speed that you move the throttle beyond this point. This gives PP the ability to increase RPM's when needed.

Corbi2 no the problem will be there nearly every time I build the speed up smoothly. I always take the throttle past the set point SBRS

There is a setting that allows throttling past the setpoint. You might want to be sure that is not ON.

I had similar problem, twice. First time it was short in one of the connectors by the stepper motor. (not by the master module). one of the wires was not properly crimped in one of the plastic connectors. Fixed this myself, kind of a pita.

2nd time i had a problem the gps puck went bad. had to buy new puck. like a hundred bucks if i remember right.

call them .... you will usually get aaron adams.
