I'd say this is almost 100% prop related. The unfamiliar counter rotation when under power is the key clue here IMHO. You may very well have had an issue with the old prop before the grounding - not bad enough to cause a vibration or something that's easily noticeable like - but enough that your ballasting method made it work nicely under that particular prop condition. It may very well have worked exquisitely for a surf wake.
Another point check is to run up the throttle to 35MPH or so and check list (unballasted completely) and RPM baseline.
The brand new prop may be completely in spec, but now completely messes up the surf wake that was effectively 'tuned' to the old prop.
OR - there is still a chance the new prop is out of spec too.

If it were my boat, the very first thing on my list after what you describe is to try another prop - and maybe even a second slightly different prop.
It's a super easy thing to do - and I'm betting it puts you on the right track.
You may also want to check that the prop shaft carrier hanger is absolutely dead 90 degrees vertical to the hull - same effect.

That's where my money would be.

I experienced this with my 2003 . Have you checked that your speed is correct? Maybe when it landed it damaged or bent the speed sensor. I had wash at certain speeds very bad but changed speed and it cleared up. Might give it a try

        shawnski is on here.

I believe you had your boat and ballast setup tuned in for the old prop and gear alignment.

I still believe you can configure your weight to get your surf wave back on the new setup. My opinion is your over thinking it, stop trying to recreate what you had and move forward with what you've got.

First things first with this boat, if you've got wash on your surf wave.... put more weight up front. That is always the first move with this hull. And if you do have the 550 laid length ways then I wouldn't put any weight at all in the port side ballast. Just because your boat lists to one side does not mean you're automatically gonna have a surf wave. Play with the weight and if you have to try a different prop. Beyond that I think your wasting your time and money. Wreck or no wreck it's a SAN, it will throw a wave.

I've tried another prop acme 644 to no avail. The wave sucks at any speed, so don't think it's speedo related. The strut is 90 degrees from the hull. I've tried another sack on the bow. I've also tried not filling the port side ballast.

Wild guess but I just remembered a thread about surf waves lacking when the water level is low. Could your lake level be down enough to cause this?

I have tried deeper water with no positive results.
