    Auto bilge 97 Super Sport???

I just picked up a 97 Super Sport and was wondering how to turn on the auto bilge. On the dash there is a "Bilge Pump" switch but nothing saying "Auto Bilge". I hit the switch briefly while on the lake and the pump kicked on then shut it off. Is this the auto bilge everyone is talking about? The pump is brand new and never seem to come on during the day, at the end of the day when I pulled the drain plug quite a bit of water came out the back.

Mine does the same thing. I wondered the same thing. there are 2 bilge pumps in the boat though. One at the stern by rudder port and one just in front of the gas tank. There is a black access panel aft of the ski locker. Pop that panel off and you will see it. Mine was broken off the base when I checked it. At rest in the water this will be the pump that kicks on first. If you are just before plane and hit the bilge pump, you can empty out if your forward pump isn't working.

So if i have the bilge pump button off on the dash but the ignition button on, this pump will kick on when water gets to it if the pump works?

this should have your answer http://www.correctcraftfan.com/Downl...s%20Manual.pdf my SN only has one bilge and ignition and bilge has to be on. there is a float in the pump that should will kick in when water level is high enough. I thought I had to replace mine but the screen at the bottom was very clogged with gunk might be worth a look.

        hope this helps

The bilge ticks on every 5-10 minutes if there is water above the internal float it will suck it up and pour it out. If you hit auto it will of course force the bilge on. Your boat will generally hold about 1 inches of water which is normal so that your depth finder works correctly. If you are exceeding 1" of water you want to check the packing on your driveshaft.

If this is your first boat, the driveshaft on our boats are designed to let water in about 6 drips a minute I believe (don't quote me on the drip rate). You can tighten the main nut to reduce the drip rate. If the packing is good no problemo. If the packing is shot then you need to replace it, takes about 30 minutes to do and is about $10 to do yourself. You do need the right tools, two wrenches, razor blade and a flat head screwdriver.
