I have been using an Elite 5 for the past couple of years with Lakemaster chips. I don't have the sonar hooked up because the depth finder on the boat gives me the info I need. I only use it for charting. We head to Northern Minnesota/Canada every summer and I really got it to navigate around those lakes but I'll use it when we hit the usual Texas lakes too. I have a windshield mount from RAM. The whole system is great. Don't have to mess around with maps when on new lakes and IMO the Lakemaster chips are the most up to date and accurate.
