    Hitch height

Nearly flush hitch height (20.75") to coupler height (21") but when I use my old forged Draw Tite 40330 1" rise, I need a wood block under the tongue jack because otherwise it is too short to pick the trailer off the ball. Trailer looks nice and level, however. Ramlin trailer with a Fulton jack.

So today I flipped the ball mount over to the 2" drop to see how the trailer rode and it is nose down. About 2 fingers' space between the rear wheel well and tire, and about 1 finger on the front. I imagine excess wear on the forward trailer suspension in this state.

I have not found a flush ball mount, if there is one that'd make this real simple.

    Looking for ideas.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Check with the local U-Haul. They should have a flush mount. Make sure the trailer is level after you load the car. my ball height varies up to 2 inches depending on what in the back of the Tahoe.

I had the same problem when I installed my Fulton jack. You can adjust the height of the jack on your trailer (move it down in our cases) to take up that 1" (and a little extra)

There is a top flush ball but it is welded to the 2" bar....kinda' scares me. If i needed one, I'd have one built.

There is also a 1" up (from top) or bottom flush where the ball mounts regular style with a nut. The flat plate is fillet welded to the 2" tube. Also scary but I've use one for about 20 years but with lighter trailers.

This is what the receiver (0" drop I believe) looks like that I bought it from the Toyota dealer...

Thanks guys, I think the solution is to try SkiTower's suggestion: I am going back to the the 2" rise and re-check the trailer for level, (it looked good before) then revise the Fulton jack connection height.

and let me clarify: there are one or two screws on the back to loosen and slide the mounting bracket down (yes you will have to remove the jack from the trailer). I'd hate for you to try to offset mount the jack. Hardest part is bracing up your trailer tongue, it's that simple!

That's like the second hitch I described and much better built than mine because of the angled weld.
