Be careful in the TX sun with those red seats. They will burn you (and your guests). I had very light gray seats in my 99 Air, and they burned people. Wet them down from time to time or put a towl over them during the peak sun hours.

Are those red seats aftermarket? They look great but it's different than mine and was curious.

The solid red seats replaced any interior that was fading and those are the old Byerly bindings.

If you are relying on the analog gauge for hours, it is not correct and has the understated.
FYI - there are some folks (like myself) that rolled the old hours onto the replacement gauge so the analog reads the correct value after replacing the crappy teleflex gauges. One suggestion to people that buy the model years with the bad gauges is to ask to see the old gauge. I kept the digital gauge in case the buyer wanted to see the hours on it - you can just hook it up to a battery and you can still make out enough of the numbers to read it.

I agree though that you have to watch out as many people will try and take advantage of this situation to make the boat appear as if it has fewer hours.

Really? This works? I'll have to test my old gauge, as I have no idea how many hours are on my boat. I know I have put 60 on it... but before I bought it is anyone's guess. Is this still true even if the gauges stopped working a long time before they were replaced? I thought the issue was that you could not read anything on them when they went bad.

I dont think I would use that rear grab bar as a tie down point. I use the swim step brackets and would imagine those were designed to support much more weight than that grab bar.

In my case it does. It might depend on how far gone they are, the issue is they corrode on the insides and the digital display gets progressively worse over time, but my experience was the gauge was always registering/tracking the correct hours and speed while underway, you just can't always make it out on the display. I replaced mine before they were completely unreadable, so I got my gauge out of the marine environment before they completely died, hence in my case one can still hook it up and make out the hours.

Seth are you talking about the lifting rings under the teak deck?

I think he simply means the brackets that connect underneath the teak platform that slide on the posts connected to the boat. That is what I use. Each one has 4 bolts. Fairly sturdy.

Yes, I am referring to what Chexi is talking about. There should be black cups (designed to keep carbon monoxide from coming up through the grab handles) preventing you from using the lifting rings to tie to.
