    2nd Alternator problem 2011 SAN230

I just had the 2nd alternator go out on my 2011 SAN230. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Hope it's just a fluke. No fun getting towed.

Your alternator will only burn out when there is a draw more than it can handle. If your stereo is not 85,000 gigiwatts and then something more practical is going to be a culprit. I would trace your ground line, make sure it is not contacting a hot line. Also look at your starter. The largest single current draw in the engine is the starter. If it is sticking open it can spike your alternator. This however should pop your main breaker.

Are you switching the main battery switch while the engine is running, because that can spike the voltage regulator and cause the alternator to not work. Also check your battery connections.
