I figure I am overreacting but the wife has been nagging me for lack of cupholder on our boat on the passenger side in the front. I was figuring it would be no big deal to cut one in just to the left of the glove box. It would encroach on the glove box space, but minimally at the worst. Anybody else done one in that spot. I figure it would be a good time to swap out to stainless steel cup holders too. Are the ones from skidim or white lake direct fit for the existing holes?

I checked that out on our boat and saw that it would cut into the glove box. I decided not to do it. Because the gunwale is wide on the 2000 boats, there is a cupholder right next to the observers seat anyway. I ended up modifying the pockets down by the passenger seats and putting cupholders there like the 2002 and newer boats have. If you don't mind cutting into the glove box, I guess you could put one or two next to it.
Someone tried the stainless cupholders from white lake and said they were a direct replacement for the plastic ones. There was a recent thread about this. I got the less expensive ones from academy and they will not fit the holes in the fiberglass deck. I could fit one for the driver's cup in the pod because the pod is soft plastic.Rob
