Perfect Pass issue

On my 01 SAN the servo motor had been acting up on the perfect pass. What it was doing was the motor would not wind the string back up on the motor. When it attempted to turn all it did was shake and viberate. So I went to PP.com and performed the tests on it and the test were giving signs it was a bad servo motor. I then ordered another assembly from PP. When I received the new assembly I installed it and it was doing the exact same thing A's before. I then tried to turn the servo motor with my hands and it was hard to turn and it was not smooth. I then unplugged the 2 plugs from the motor and tried to turn it again. Now it turned smooth and freely with the wires unplugged. Has anybody had any similar issuses? What did you do to fix it?

With ignition on it should be hard to turn the motor. Usually when vibrates means you got a bad connection. Download the troubleshooting manual from perfect pass. In there it tells you how to perform the phase test. This will test from the control box to the motor and should tell you which if any of the cables/connections are no good. The test is done from the display. Which perfect pass do you have?

Its the wakeboard pro model. It might be the original. From what I have been told by the tech at PP it is an old one they don't make anymore. As far as the tests I don't know if I can do them on my display because the only options I have are water temp, batt volt, rpm, speed, and fine tuning. Should I just trace every wire?

Have you got the single line display or the multi? All the wires go down 1 multi core cable

Ok thank you. Also under the dash there is a puck looking thing that has a knob on the bottom. What is this and what does it do?

Not sure what your puck thing is? Can you get s photo of it?
I did have some information on how to test each wire for perfect pass using a volt Meter but cannot find it anywhere. Contact Aaron Adams at perfect pass. Really helpful guy he should be able to help you out.

Yes I have a picture of the puck thing but. I figure out how to uploaded it off my phone onto here. I don't have a computer. My phone is my computer lol
