PP Alarm ALWAYS on, 2008 206 with Faria Gateway ??

This spring when we started to use the boat the Alarm Beep is stuck ON. We checked for engine codes and all is clear, problem was tracked down to being the alarm on the Perfect Pass display. Perfect pass works as expected as does the rest of the boat. We temporarily disconnected the alarm and all seems to work fine. PP support thought either the Gateway or the Display module.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I had an issue with my PP this spring also. PP support had me open up the gateway and press the processor chip to re-seat it better just in case it had gotten loose. With doing that the chip did go in a little bit. As for my problem it didn't go away, but i ended up just upgrading the PP to stargazer, and what a difference that made in how PP works. Gary or Mark helped me there at PP and they are GREAT. Not sure if they suggested re-seating that chip. Thats my 2 cents. Stargazer upgrade is 499$ and im glad i did it. Good luck.

Did you have the same issue or something different? I'm thinking about going the upgrade route as well if I have to spend money on a repair, I can't see how it can be an issue with the gateway being all else is working including the Perfect pass.

The issue i was having was that it wouldn't capture at the right speed and then it would never capture. I would speed up and it wouldn't beep, it would show like it had captured but it would never take over and work. It was intermittent. I worked with PP on setting the kdw, and the CS and all that. And i felt like those adjustments were making a difference, but i still had some intermittent probs, so to not screw with it i did the upgrade and it has worked great. I did have it over shot and not capture one time but i was doing the adjustments and stuff, and haven't seen an issue since. I have noticed with the upgrade it holds tighter speeds. PP says it should beep 1mph before your set speed and will over shoot your set speed by like 1 or 2 mph but will settle pretty quick. So far its doing great. The install was really smooth. Took me about an hr to mount the box and get it all set and wire tied up nice. hard to say if that upgrade with fix that beep. I would think that it would since you would be running through the PP module for the GPS stuff.

By alarm - do you mean the PP was beeping every minute or so?

PP will do that if your battery voltage is low / alternator belt slipping / dead battery, etc.
