    Changing fuel type ok?

I have always used 87, but want to use ethenol free. It's only available in 91.5 octane. Is that ok for my Excalibur?

Yep. Higher octane only hurts your pocketbook, not your engine.

I actually think you would see an increase in fuel economy, and not to mention ethanol is bad for your boat IMO. Ethanol makes engines less efficient.... (Im sure this will start some banter)

I've started using ethanol free, but like you, can only find it here (Charlotte, NC) in premium. People at the station told me that "Mecklenburg county people" told their management, they could only sell ethanol free fuel in premium grade. Seems like some shennanigans going on somewhere, maybe Meck. county here on the verge of losing federal highway money if they don't hit their air quality numbers??

I agree with you 100%! Ethanol is garbage fuel, especially in a marine environment. We have 1 station in town that still sells 100% gasoline 87 octane, at the same price as 87 ethanol. I'm not sure how they pull it off, but it's awesome for our boat and Tahoe. I notice a +100 mile per tank difference in the Tahoe when compared to ethanol (300 to 400 miles per tank, freeway miles from home to office).

maybe i'll change my tuning to performance or towing and use the 91.5 eth. free in my yukon as well. one station has 91.5 eth. free and it's about 3.80 right now. closer to the water "boat" fuel is labeled 87 eth free for about 3.80, but i was told around here shell only gives out 91.5 so that's slightly odd, but whatever.

Down here in Orlando, the very few stations (3 that I know of in an 80 mile radius) are not supposed to let that ethanol free go into any newer vehicles (from 83 and up I believe).... Government BS

Ya. And the EPA wanted to add closer to 15% to all fuels which would ruin most engines.

Use Ethanol-Free gas @ a higher octane. I'm paying ~0.40/gal more for it, but E10 & a boat really don't mix. Engine ran real rough when E10 sat in the tank over the winter.
