Not sure if it was worth it. After I cut the top out and looked inside it, it definitely seemed well engineered, meaning I think almost every available spot was taken up by water. If I gained 50lbs from it, I would be pretty surprised. I don't really plan on storing anything in there with the collapsed space. I had 2 casualties from the battle, the sawzall blade tip blasted the brittle sch20 pipe that sleaves the steering cable and some other cable, now I have to cut and clean it up. I don't plan on replacing it because I don't feel I need to, and I have clear access to replace it which is kind of a plus. And I lost an original ballast pump, the dump pump, due to it being brittle. Gonna get some wakemakers parts on order and be back on the water soon.
For anybody looking to do this project, I say if you plan on using the space for storage, it is probably worth it. If not and you don't mind cutting out the front cooler, your weighting money is probably better used there instead. If I could do it again, I would have probably just left it alone. Hope this helps out anyone in the future. Had I seen a review like this, it would have made me think twice.
