    2001 SAN Rear door/hatches touch/rub -- Is there a hinge adjustment?

Bought my first Nautique -- new to me 2001 Super Air Nautique

I've searched until my eyes hurt. If there is a previous post, please let me know.

The two rear side hatches touch and rub against the motor cover when closing. This is going to tear up the vinyl. I can't see how the hinges can be adjusted. Anyone know how to fix this?

sounds normal to me. The boat is already 11 years old so something would have shown by now most likely.

I re-upholstered the entire boat prior to using. Didn't realize the hatches rubbed. Looks like the vinyl will be destroyed in one season. I can't see how this would be normal.

A picture would be helpful. There is not adjustment that I know about.

Here's a picture. I have to push the hatch over to close.

Is something going on at the hinge side?

Both rear hatches do the exact same thing. The hatches were remounted using the original hole locations. The hinges, where they attach to the boat, look undisturbed.

It looks like the new upholstery might have more foam or might not have the exact stitching or size as the original. You could always take the side hatches off and see if you can slot the holes in the fiberglass or adjust the hinge on the hatch side to make it work. Or take it back the the uphosterer and let them re-work the vinyl.

Thanks for the pic. Honestly it looks like the new upholstery job is not quite as tight as it came from the factory which allows the foam to expand more and thus the clearance issues.
