Perfect Pass - bezel ? - buttons not working

On Saturday after several hours of boating my up and down arrows on my single-line Perfect Pass display stopped working. I disconnected and reconnected all connections to the brain box as well as the servo, disconnected the main battery ground, waited, etc., but without success. I suspect the ribbon has gone bad inside the display. Does anyone know how the bezel of the display is attached to the display body (e.g., is it glued, screwed, or something else)? I could not seem to unscrew it easily anyway.

I will check when I go home today as I had to pull mine last year. When talking to PP they said that when the buttons don't work, the unit is shot and must be replaced. I did the upgrade to the multi-line and stargazer but I didn't like that answer. I know from personal experience with my old boat that the buttons started to work again. I wish I could remember what I did. Did the unit get wet at all? That was one issue I had that made the buttons not work.

I am 99% sure that the unit did not get wet. Thanks for thinking about this. I emailed PerfectPass, but they have not yet responded (and may not). I ordered from ebay a mastercraft unit without the bezel. I am hoping I can use the bezel and face plate from my existing one with the mastercraft one. It is just a single line display. I really don't need a multi-line. I used to have one on my Tige and didn't really care for it.

Sorry to take 3 days for a simple answer. The bezel does not screw on nor is it attached with glue. Mine just sort of slides on (albeit tight). If I remember correctly, I undid the screws on the back and slid it out the front so the bezel wasn't an issue. I did check and I was able to slide the bezel off by hand. Maybe if you use a screwdriver and GENTLY apply a little pressure you can get yours to start moving. Once it does that you should be able to hand turn it.

        I hope that helps. -Marc

Thanks Mark. I find out tomorrow. Hopefully the only issue I will have is that my new one says MasterCraft on it.

I have a perfectly good 5" single line nautique face display. I replaced it with multi line. Email me if you want it.

I have a 3.5" single line Nautique display, not sure what size your boat has. I'll make you a sweet deal on it.
