    Dented Front Skag

Should I be worried about this? PO said it was from original owner. Looks like rock smack to me.

Unless it messes with your wake (sometimes if they're way bent out they can cause some white watch on one side of the wake) I wouldn't worry about it. IMO

I may take my drumel and clean the edges up some.

A blemish yes, but should not affect performance. Could be from hitting any number of things.

That said, a ding like that would make me really pay attention to the drive shaft alignment and prop, possible vibrations while underway. Not sure if this is your boat you already own or a potential purchase?

I just picked it up memorial day weekend. I am the third owner. PO said the original owner did it. Hopefully will be taking it out tomorrow so I will see how she tracks. There was some prop work done too on the original 422 (can tell on end of the ears) but PO put on a new 422 and kept the original as a spare. Service and survey was just done on it a couple months ago along with full compression check. I'll let you know how it tracks and form on the wakes.

If you bend them, you can bank it out with a hammer or dremmel any minor blemishes. But that looks to be some little chunks missing. If it doesn't affect performance noticeably, just dremmel the rough spots and go on. If you're anal like me, then replace it. Just takes a screwdriver and some 3M 4200.

Hey I have a similiar issue....but mine is bent. It is tracking differently now. I took out the screws but it was still held firmly. How hard will I have to hit it to unseat it?

Give it a moderate kick with the heel of your shoe.

EXACTLY. Just triple check all the screws are out.
