Water pick up leaking

I have a small leak where the water pick up comes through the hull(block cooling water). The leak is small enough that the auto bilge keeps up with it but I pulled the boat and want to fix this before it gets worse. Through hull plumbing always makes me nervous so any thoughts on where to start in solving this? Im not sure how they are put together (seals, gaskets, etc) so I dont want to just go rippin' it apart without a little guidance. Thanks for the help!

here is a thread i did prior where i fixed that same leak in my v-drive, includes some helpful pics of the thru hulls. if yours is a direct drive it should be much easier to do. no gaskets to seal, just some 3M 4200 or 5200, whichever you prefer ...
