Bad idea? plywood against exhaust manifold.

Running a 98 Super Sport w Gt-40 engine. Still has the factory hard tanks, I want to put a 750 bag on top of the factory tank on the port side to surf. I can't get it more than about a quarter full and it starts to lean into the engine & exhaust manifold. I was thinking about cutting apiece of plywood setting the edge on top of the hard tank and leaning it against the top of the exhaust manifold and the upright behind the rear seat, preventing the fat sac from leaning against the manifold or anything else. The majority of the weight would be on the hard tank, but it seems like there would still be some "push" on the engine.
Wondering if anyone else has done this, or if even the small amount of weight pushing against the engine is a bad idea.
Any thoughts?
I can run 400 lbs sacs on the tanks without problems but I can't get a decent surf wake, looking thru the forums and talking with the board shop, seems like everyone says use the 750's

Hah! That 750 on top of the factory 200 tank must be like "The Blob" in there!

Manifold shouldn't get hot enough to hurt it and the tank should protect the compartment divider from getting pushed into the raw water pump fan belt. I guess you could put a piece of plywood in there to beef up the divider (I'd be more worried about the weight on the poor tank though). Then, as long as the sac doesn't try to crawl on top of the motor, it should be ok (just kidding).

A 750 filled to capacity just about completely fills that compartment WITHOUT a factory tank in there. I hope it doesn't mush the factory tank.
