    ATT: Another Transmission Thread

I looked threw a few of the Transmission threads and I found some use full info.
The Problem: CODE RED! Red Transmission fluid all in the bildge! Hummm Where is it comming from? Front or Rear Seal? I did some detectieve work and traced what I thought the leak was comming from to the Front main seal The Part where the Transmission Mounts to the motor. Took the transmission out and replaced the Front main seal. Put new fluid in and NO BUENO I have a very small leak. I would say 1 or 2 drops a week.
Its enough to make a mess of the bildge and Warrent me to get after it again. So 2nd time is always a charm. This time I could swear the leak is commimng from where the transmission splits. I can feel a gasket where the housing the mounts to the Motor and attaches to the front of the tranny. It was hard for me to find a picture of the gasket or seal Im takling about. Anyway!!! Is their any advice you can give me b4 I go deep again, Am I going to need any special tools ect? Should I just have the transmission rebuilt at this point? Any Advice would be helpfull

Look at the transmission cooler. If it has rusted through you may have a leak. It might also be the cooler hoses. Good luck.

Thanks for the Help. The transmission came back out in like 45 mins. Amazing how much faster and easy it is when doing it for the 2nd time LOL. I found the leak. It was comming out from around the drain plug threads. I took it out and put some teflon tape on the treads and put the drain plug back in and filled it back up and now Im gonna let it sit for a week b4 i put it back in and see If i have any more leaks.
