getting too much gas in the carburetor.

I have an 1988 2001 Ski Nautique and it is shooting to much gas in the carburetor. I switch the Holley out and put a Edelbrock 1409 in and it is still putting too much gas in carb. Any help one what else to do?

What is it doing? How do you know its a fuel problem? Points or electronic ignition?

When turning over it shoots gas out the top and there is puddles of gas on the motor. It will fire once then just keep turning over each time I turn the key. It has points. I am not sure if a fuel problem.

It won't start at all. Instead, fluid is being spit out of the carb.
Occasionally it tries to fire up, but just spits a lot of fluid (gas?)

Check to see if the float(s) is set correctly.
