04 SV-211, 90 hours mint, new owner, 2nd time out. First time out, 2 hours, no issues, no water in hull, BALLAST NOT USED. Yesterday, kids wakeboarded WITHOUT BALLAST for an hour or so, no issues. Stopped. Filled all x3 tanks to surf. Boat didn't feel quite right after about 15/20 minutes. Stopped. Lifted engine cover. Shocked at amount of water in engine compartment. Turned Bilge on. Open ballast tanks and turned on pumps. Lights would come on steady (fill), but couldn't get them to flash (empty) no matter how long I held down the button, etc. Left pumps off. Closed valves. Took a while, but bilge cleared water. Ballast tanks remained full, pumps off, and valves closed.
Started back to dock. Stopped to check engine compartment. Dry. Tried to empty ballast tanks one last time. This time, key pads flashed, emptied with no issue. Pumps off, valves closed. No issues and no water in hull so decided to continue the day.
End of day, filled tanks again (close to dock). Ran pumps until water just started to come out the outlet on side of boat. Tanks full, pumps off, valves closed. Turned on bilge. Lots of water coming out the bow bilge. None at stearn. Turned bilge off after water cleared. Ran boat and surfed for probably 30/40 minutes. Stopped several times. No water in engine compartment. Turned on bilge, no water to speak of coming out side of boat. Ballast gauges all showed full. Emptied ballast tanks with no issue. Gauges all show empty.
Boat was checked-out by Nautique dealer on purchase. They also winterized. Different Nautique dealer did de-winterization, and full service, i.e., oil, v-drive, etc.
Any educated guesses on the water in the engine compartment? Why I couldn't get the tanks to empty the first try?
Tks.
