Problem_Check Engine Light one 2002 SANTE

I have an issue with my boat and the check engine light is on which it has never been since I had the boat .. 3 years. I went out today and the light was on and i coulnt plan the boat. it would bog and would plane .. on idle and trolling fast it runs perfect. All the guages are perfect reading.

I went back out and the engine light was off and i could gun it with full power but after all afternoon the light was still on. It only bogs with the check engine light on. Has anyone else had this issue. Is it normal that the check engine light will cause this .. kind of like a safety.

Any input or things to check would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I tried unplugging the battery to see if the system would reset. ONe of my buddies told me that he had the same issue and it was related to the perfect pass issue.

Also my brother filled the boat for the first time at the local Marina and they have a reputation for having water in the gas. I was wondering if you think this could be the issue as well.

Let me know what you think

        excalibur,

I read the manuals and it seems my boat went into power saving mode.

They say it can either be related to the cooling system or the oil pressure.

Its probably the low oil pressure switch on the side of the motor that is going bad try next time disconnecting then testing when the problem occurs again. Its on the side of the motor where normally the oil filter would be installed if it did not have the relocated oil filter, it is the sensor that has the green wire hooked to it.

                HI everyone.

I would like to update you on my progress.

                1) Fuel Sensor seems to be working perfect
                2) For the life of me I couldnt seem to find the oil pressure sensor. I looked everywhere. WHere would it be located? Is it directly in the block. PLease note i have the excalibur 330 engine on a 2002 SANTE. Any help would be appreciated.

It should be on the starboard side of the engine, about midway from the top of the engine to the bottom, and slightly closer to the seatback. It looks like a 2.5" cylinder kind of.

                    Hi Gride,

Does this look like the engine temp sensor and go right into the block, ir is it more like an inline sensor?
